Garschagen: A very ancient family name:

The Garschagens are a group of family settled almost every where in the world. The great part of Garschagen relatives live in Germany, Denmark, Italy, United States, Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, South Africa, Australia. ( Just to list some of the Countries I know, there live our Garschagen relatives.)

The name of “Garschagen” have really ancient origin. Mrs Marie Schmidt and Karl-Heinz Garschagen spend most of their time in building a database about all past ancestors and alive members of the Garschagen Clan. They accomplished a great work that finally was first release in 1983 with the Title:

“Die Sippe der Garschagen”

In occasion of the second worldwide meeting in Germany that have been attended by about 300 family components, the book was distributed to the Family Heads. The Garschagen’s Clan Book was published 1983 by Karl-Heinz Garschagen and relyed on the publication of 1975 (presumed) of the first Book “Die Sippe der Garschagen” of Mrs. Marie Schmidt (d. 6.9.1975).

The records of the Family members in the Book of Mrs. Marie Schmidt goes from 1603 to 1937. Mr. Karl-Heinz Garschagen reviewed the records until the year 1982. In the introduction page of Karl-Heinz Garschagen where he express the wish that under our Clan’s Member it will be some that may continue and forward his and Marie Schmidt work.
