Why is important to support the project for an online Garschagen Community?

We sure have many other Online community on the Web that provide great service for free. That is right! But we also know that the main interest of this community is to sell ads service. I, and I think also those Garschagen’s member that would like to contribute for this project want something very exceptional, exclusive. Well you would not imagine but we have something already!!

We have had the fortune to have two very generous persons under our relatives:

• Marie Smith
• Karl Heinz Garschagen

This two persons made it possible that many of us, started to know that we belong to a family genealogy with almost 600 years of history!

How many people do you know that belong to a family with 600 years of history?

I guess you may know the Royals of Great Britain (from the Tv,  ) they have a bit more century of History.  You may know the Hapsburg of Germany,  from learning history at school and also because Vienna is so famous for it’s Opera House and for the great musician Mozart and many others great Artist,  Literate and Compositors.

• The question is:

Why Marie Schmidt and Karl Heinz Garschagen spent almost decades,  collecting information about our birth,  confirmation,  marriage and children?

Why they were so interested in where we live and if we know about other members existence and about so many people that have the surname Garschagen or are direct descendant of the Garschagen line?

I suppose, but I’m quite sure of, with the help of my faith, that they have seen something special in our Family. They have seen that something happened in the Story of our Families that influenced all descendant to our present time in a very special way.

I’m not sure the best suited person, for describing and explaining this.  I’m sorry that I could not have the fortune of  knowing Marie Schmidt and Karl Heinz Garschagen personally,  but my Grand Mother Anita Sophie Adele Zirbs (*17.December 1912 – +21 January 2008) transferred to me some of the kind of knowledge and the Family History that made me stronger and a positive man and let me appreciate this privilege.

She spoke to me about the Garschagen when I was 23 (exactly in the period in 1983 when most of the Garschagen meat in Germany) and I begun to understand what does mean being really a bit a small part of history (from 1383 to present time) and know about the origin and the history of the family which myself belong to. We have a fortune and treasure that is not granted to anyone on this planet.

I don’t think that is important if we have “blue blood”,  and if even under our members may really have lived some Duke, Marquis and Baron (that’s not official is just because I have got some information that it exist a branch of our Family that is not registered in the Book of Marie Schmidt and Karl Heinz Garschagen),  it is not “this” that make our Family Clan something special.

Under our Coat of Arms we have a benedictine motto: “Ora et Labora”. This show to us that we have always being part of a christian believe and faith but even some Jewish and Evangelist and Catholic member are under the Garschagens. So our religious education history is also characterized by not making really religion difference. Neither does our political history, I guess we don’t have one.

But is there something special that made us “entitled” to form an Online  Community?

Ok let me know what you think about. Lets found out the true Garschagen spirit and ideal together, this is my personal motivation for starting for the idea of an online Community named “Garschagen”.
